Step 1 | Health

Fri May 10, 2024

I’ve accomplished more than I could have ever imagined and it feels like this is just the beginning. The compound effect will do it’s job, but we have to put in the energy, work, hours, and iterations.

This blog is based on 30+ years of life experience and all the material I’ve consumed (mostly youtube/podcasts + some books). Hopefully you get value out of this.

Step 1 is about the basics… I’ve had some critical epiphanies since turning 30 and have had a lot of time to think during the lockdown in 2020.

You want to make the journey through life as enjoyable, worthwhile, and beneficial as possible.

If you are a functioning human, these things should be your priorities before anything/anyone else.

  1. Sleep
  2. Exercise
  3. Diet

I see a lot of influencers/hustlers brag about not sleeping, overworking, etc.

When you eventually become successful (it’s inevitable if you put in the work), you will realize sacrificing health for reaching your goals wasn’t worth it. It took me 30 years to realize this and even though I had a lot of fun in my 20’s, I wish I prioritized my health (sleep, exercise, diet) more.

Health and time are the two things you can not purchase more of.

A lack of DEEP/REM sleep bleeds into everything you do. If you feel tired (not 100%), you’ll skip workouts, eat worse, be more irritable, make worse decisions, not have the energy to do the things that matter, etc.

Get your sleep and exercise every 24 hours! Try your best to eat healthy proteins and vegetables. It’s not even worth being successful if you are unhealthy and can’t enjoy it.

Alex Hormozi states that YOU ARE THE ASSET. Businesses come and go, things will happen, but you are the biggest asset you have throughout life. It’s in your best interest to take good care of your number 1 asset.

Naval Ravikant’s priorities:

  1. Mental Health (Low stress)
  2. Physical Health (Exercise + Diet + Sleep)
  3. Spiritual Health (includes your purpose)
  4. Your Family’s health
  5. Your Friend’s health
  6. Everything else

More to come…
